Shaktee were a pioneering British Bhangra band that rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a major part of the UK Bhangra industry. Based in Wolverhampton, the group was credited with helping modernise the genre by seamlessly blending traditional Punjabi folk with Western contemporary sounds like R&B, hip-hop, and house!
